Top Picks, Stitchville Wool
Stitchville wools are produced by a Chilean co-operative which promotes cultural recognition and self-sufficiency for the communities of Mapuche. This traditional weaving community specialises in natural plant dyes.
Why is Stitchville Wool individually priced?
Stitchville Wool is delivered to us in big skeins. We wind these skeins into convenient centre pull balls, and whilst doing so we are very attentive to the yarn's natural flow. We would therefore not necessarily cut yarn when we have wound 50gm into a ball, but instead we would cut where a natural interruption (i.e. a knot) occurs. The prices are calculated on per gm basis. We take care to list yarns of any particular colour in one lot at a time, so you don't have to worry about dye lot discrepancies. However, please do bear in mind that organic dyeing methods can produce slightly irregular shades. This should not be regarded as a flaw, but a characteristic of organically dyed fibre. Colour lots are indicated next to colour description. You can choose between 1 and 2ply. These yarns have been hand spun.
